Every pair is cut by hand from full-grain leather, lasted, and sewn one at a time. The sole is stitched rather than glued, which is what makes a resole possible years from now.

A batch is ten pairs, because that is what the work comes to. The story behind the first ten is here.

Order your usual size. The leather is firm at first and moulds to your foot over the first weeks of wear, the split toe included.

Full-grain leather is the top layer of the hide with the grain left intact, so it doesn't peel the way coated leather does. It darkens a little, takes a patina where it flexes, and keeps the marks of where you've been.

Creases across the top and a softened split toe are the shoe fitting you, not wearing out. Conditioning keeps it supple — the care manual has the routine.
